FI0057 A PRETTY RECLAIMED VICTORIAN CAST IRON ARCHED FIRE INSERT

A reclaimed Victorian cast iron fire insert. The insert has a large arch with pretty repeating border pattern featuring delicate leaves and diamond shapes. The inner arch has a thin border and the top plate has a large leaf design, typical of the era. The fire has retained its original curved front bars. The iron has been blacked and polished and it has a good finish. The insert is perfect for pairing with a fire surround. We have photographed the insert with an Edwardian fire surround for illustrative purposes. Please note the surround is not included in the price and it is available for sale separately, please see reference FS0175 for details. The cast iron insert is in very good antique condition with some small signs of age and wear. There are some small casting marks, scratches and knocks. The concrete fire back has some cracks and chips but it is stable and solid. The back has surface rust, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire insert has a pretty appearance and is of a good quality and would be ideal for a period home.
