A set of four very tall, reclaimed, pine bifold panels / room dividers. The panels are of a rare large size and were originally used to divide a room in a Victorian home and are ideal for this purpose or perhaps for other interior projects such as very large cupboard doors. The dividers comprise of four sections, two wider outer doors and two thinner inner doors which are designed to open in the centre, 1 wider and 1 thinner door on each side that are hinged together, and can be folded back. The dividers have an attractive period appearance and each features recessed panels with mouldings at their base. The wider doors each have 4 glazed panels and the thinner doors have 2. The dividers are glazed with vintage textured "bobbled" glass. The glass does not meet current safety standards and will need to either be removed and replaced with toughened glass or a certified toughening film applied to the flat side. We can film the dividers for an extra charge, to ensure they pass regulations. Please contact us for details and a quote. The dividers have been painted but there are differing colours, stains, flakes and splits in the paint and some of the paint has been partially sanded and they will need to be stripped by purchaser and re-painted to suit. The door heights are currently 2585mm approximately but could be cut to a minimum height of 2100mm. Please contact us if you would like advice regarding this. The room dividers are in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of wear and age, as expected of antique items. The wood has some knocks and chips especially to the edges and corners. There are some marks and holes where door hardware has been removed. The hinges have a chipped paint finish and the outer hinges have some surface rust. The dividers have some thin surface splits that do not affect their structural integrity. The doors may need slight levelling at current height. Please see pictures for condition details. The room dividers / bifold panels have a very elegant appearance and are perfect for a period home. It is very rare to find original dividers of this size and they are very desirable and would make a great statement in a home.
