A very elegant, reclaimed, Art Deco oak fire surround likely to date to C.1920. The surround is of a good size for a living or dining room and has a simple yet stylish design that would suit both period and modern properties, with carved edges to the mantel and plain mouldings applied to the surround edges. The surround could be paired with a cast iron fire basket or perhaps used for decorative purposes. The oak has a rich colour and it has a waxed or varnished finish that highlights the natural wood grain. The surround is in very good reclaimed condition with some slight signs of age, as expected of antique items. The fire surround has some small knocks and scratches from use. There is a circular stain on the mantel and some small dark marks and scratches. The feet have some scuffs, stains and discolouration. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround is of a fine quality and has elegant styling, typical of the period, and is perfect for adding charm and character to a fireplace.
