M1570 A STUNNING ANTIQUE RECLAIMED BEECH SWISS CARPENTERS WORK BENCH

SOLD

Code: M1570

A stunning, reclaimed, antique carpenters beech work bench likely to date to the late Victorian period or early 20th Century. The work bench is Swiss made and the bench has an integrated vice at the front and at one end (with removeable panel next to it) each with a quality wooden vice screw and large beech handle. The front vice can be removed (we have photographed this) if you would prefer the bench to have a flush front. The bench has two thick metal holding pegs and several holes along the front of the bench for them to sit. The bench top has thick planks and a recessed tray for storage. The finger joints can be seen on one side that add character. The beech has been cleaned and an oil applied, giving it a deep colour that highlights the natural wood grain and character patina. The work bench is in very good condition with character signs of use and attractive rustic patina. There are some stains, dark marks and scratches from use. The bench has some knocks and chips, as expected. The metal pins have some tarnish. Please see pictures for condition details. The bench has a wonderful vintage, rustic appearance and is in fully useable condition. The work bench is the perfect item for a home workshop or for carpenter and is a fine item that is rare to find in this condition.
