DP0355 PAIR RECLAIMED PAINTED PINE GLAZED DOORS FOR SOME RESTORATION

SOLD

Code: DP0355

Dimensions:

H: 212cm (83.5")D: 5cm (2")

A pair of reclaimed, late Victorian, painted pine glazed doors that require some restoration. The old school doors are solid and heavy, with mortise and tenon joints. Each door has 6 panels that are glazed with wire safety glass. We can re-glaze the doors, if desired, for an extra charge, please contact us for details and a quote. The doors are sold as seen and will require some restoration. The original solid panels at the base of the doors have been repaired and most of the original mouldings have been replaced or covered with thick mouldings. The doors are currently painted blue but the paint has marks, stains, cracks and flaking and the doors will need sanding and re-painting by purchaser to suit. There are knocks and chips to the doors, mainly to the edges and corners, and there is a large splinter of wood that has come away from one of the door edges at the base. The glazing beading has some damage, splintering and chips. There are some holes and light damage from where door hardware was removed. The door heights and widths may need slight levelling. The doors have metal kick plates and finger plates that purchaser may wish to remove. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors were used internally but after restoration they could perhaps be used externally. The doors are ideal for a restoration project and are solid and heavy and once restored they will be a nice addition to the home.
