A pair of elegant reclaimed internal pine French doors dating to the late Victorian period. The doors have a very nice appearance and are well made with mortise and tenon joints and gunstock stiles. Each door has a recessed panel with decorative beading and two large panels glazed with clear glass. The glass is original and DOES NOT MEET CURRENT SAFETY STANDARDS and therefore must be replaced. One panel has a small break in the top corner. We can re-glaze the doors for an extra charge, please contact us to discuss your requirements and for a quote. The doors have been stripped to bare wood. The doors have been stripped in a strip tank and there is some residue dampness, mainly to the beading around one recessed panel and therefore the doors may be best left unpainted. The beading could be removed and cleaned with a solution that can help remove the caustic, please contact us if you would like advice about this. The doors are antique and therefore have some signs of age and wear. The doors have some marks and small holes where door hardware has been removed and there are some small wood knots. The pine has some knocks and splintering and there are some very thin surface splits. There are some cut marks near the hinge slots. Door hardware will need to be supplied by purchaser. The glazing putty is missing in areas. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors are very attractive and have a lovely design, perfect for adding period character to a home.
