A petite, reclaimed, Victorian arched cast iron bedroom fire insert. The insert has a nice design, in the traditional Victorian style, with an arched fire opening surrounded by a small circle border and there is a large circle border around the outer arched edge. The fire has its original curved front bars and top plate with a decorative motif. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a nice finish. The insert is of a petite size, ideal for a bedroom, and could be paired with a pine fire surround. The fire insert is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected. The front of the fire insert has some small scratches and some casting marks, especially to the top edge. The concrete fire brick has a large crack and some damage but it is stable within the fire. There is a small gap between the fire brick and the iron sides that could be filled with fire cement if the fire is to be used. There is surface rust to the back of the fire, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire has a lovely period appearance and would be a fantastic item for adding character to a fireplace.
