CS0082 A PAIR OF RELCLAIMED STRIPPED PINE VICTORIAN WINDOW SHUTTERS

A pair of reclaimed, original, stripped pine Victorian shutters. The shutters comprise of 4 leaves, 2 on each side, that are hinged so one folds back behind the other when opened. The shutters have two flush panels on each of the larger outer leaves and the thinner inner leaves have recessed panels, three on one side and two on the other. The shutters retain the original metal pull handle on the front face and the large stay bar and hook for the bar to fit onto. The hook will need to be moved up by purchaser so the bar can rest horizontally. The metal does have surface rust and purchaser may wish to remove, seal and then paint the items before re-attaching to the shutters. The pine has been stripped in a strip tank. There is some residue dampness that may dry out further over time but please note the shutters are not suitable for painting. The shutters are antique and therefore have some character signs of age and wear. There is some damage to one outer corner and an inner corner and there are some further knocks and chips to the corners and edges. There are some wood knot holes and some further small holes. The front of one shutter has a knock. The pine has a textured finish in places and some light splintering. There are some surface splits that do not affect the structural integrity of the shutters, The heights may need slight levelling. The pine has some colour variation that may improve when they dry over time. There is some slight paint residue that could be sanded. Some small treated woodworm holes can be seen. Please see pictures for condition details. The shutters have a nice period appearance and are ideal for adding character to a window.
