FB0090 VERY LARGE RECLAIMED VINTAGE CAST IRON FIRE BASKET & FIRE DOGS

A very large and stylish, reclaimed, vintage cast iron fire basket and fire dogs. The fire basket has a nice design and is likely to date to the early to mid 20th Century. The basket has decorative knobs at the front and each corner has a post with rivets. The burning area has four bricks that slot in to the basket and there is a gap at the back to accommodate a stone fire back / slab. Purchaser will need to add a stone slab if the basket is to be used. The sides of the basket have large brackets with hooks for sitting on fire dogs. The basket is paired with some tall reclaimed late 20th Century fire dogs. The fire dogs have an elegant design with arched feet and a tall front with a circular finial. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a good finish. The fire basket and fire dogs are in good reclaimed condition with some signs of age and use. The back of the fire has a slight bow or bulge and some pitting from where it was used without a stone back. The bricks have some marks, knocks and discolouration. The basket and fire dogs have some small knocks and scratches. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire basket and fire dogs have a very nice appearance that would suit both period and modern properties and their very good size makes them desirable and useful items.
