A rare, heavy and very old reclaimed oak glazed window. The window dates to the early Georgian period, or perhaps earlier, and has an abundance of period character. The window has two fixed glazed panels, glazed with clear leaded glass. The glass panels appear to have been replaced at a later date, one more recently than the other, and are in good reclaimed condition without cracks or breaks. The glazing panels are set into a very thick oak frame with a very characterful grain and antique appearance. The oak has a fantastic look and has been hand chamfered and has interesting bends and character in the very old wood. The base of the window has a thick oak sill. The window is of a considerable age and does have signs of wear, use and damage, as expected. The window has a rustic appearance with cracks, knocks and some light damage to the frame and sill but it is solid and stable. There is some soft wood, especially to the sill and some treated woodworm holes. The inside base edge, under the glazing panels, is missing some oak batons. We can supply some batons for an extra charge, please contact us for a quote. There are some holes in the frame and some nails left from previous use. The window lead has some tarnish. The frame varnish or stain has faded and purchaser may wish to sand and re-finish the frame to suit. Please see pictures for condition details. The window has a wonderful appearance and is a fantastic antique item, ideal for a cottage or rustic home.
