A large reclaimed cast iron fire basket and fire dogs. The fire basket is in the Arts and Crafts style and may date to this period. The large basket has a swans nest shape and has a good area for burning. The front of the basket has a very nice design with thick bars and shaped finials. The back of the fire basket is open and can therefore be paired with a cast iron fire back (not included). The basket has four brackets that fit on to solid and heavy firedogs with arched feet and a shield design. The cast iron has been blacked and polished and it has a very nice finish. The fire basket is reclaimed and therefore has some small signs of age and use. The fire dogs have a notch to the top front edge. The fire dogs and basket have some small knocks and chips from use and some casting marks. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire basket has a fantastic Arts and Crafts appearance, ideal for both period and modern properties and is of a very good size. The fire basket and fire dogs would make a very nice feature within a fire place.
