Code: CS0090

A pair of reclaimed painted pine shutters likely to date to the late Victorian or early Edwardian period. The shutters comprise of 4 leaves, 2 on each side, that are hinged so one folds back behind the other when opened. The two outer shutter leaves are wider and have decorative mouldings around recessed panels. The shutters have been made using two pairs of shutters that have been attached on the back face with hinges to make a taller pair. Purchaser could separate the shutters if preferred, to make smaller two pairs. The back of the shutters have a large metal stay bar and receiver for the bar to fit onto. The inner edges of the shutters have a rebate to allow the shutters to sit nicely together. The outer leaves of the shutters have been painted white and the inner leaves cream but there is some chipping and flaking and purchaser may wish to sand and re-paint the shutters to suit. The shutters are solid and useable with some signs of use, as expected of reclaimed items. The tops and bottoms of the shutters have some knocks and notches and some of the joints have slight separation. The hinges have some surface rust and some have bent and will need replacing. There are some chips and knocks to the pine. As the shutters are two sets that have been attached they are slightly wobbly when handled but will be more secure once fitted in place. Please see pictures for condition details. The shutters have a very nice period appearance and are of a good size for many home projects.
