A pair of stunning, reclaimed, Victorian cast iron windows or small doors likely to date to C.1890-1900. The windows have a very attractive appearance, each with several cast iron diamond style sections fitted with clear glass. The glass does have some breaks and cracks. We can re-glaze the broken sections for an extra charge, please contact us for details and a quote. The windows are of a size that would make them very versatile and could be used as small doors, perhaps for a pair of unusual pantry doors or similar. Each window has a bracket at the top and bottom to be used with a pin and bracket. The pin and fixing brackets are missing but purchaser could easily replace them. The hole for the pin bolt is 12mm and sets can be found on the internet by searching "12mm gate hinge bracket". Please contact us if you need any further advice. The windows are in solid condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected of reclaimed antiques. One pane of glass has some paint residue. The paint has flaking and chipping and some surface rust can be seen. Purchaser may wish to strip and re-finish the window frames to suit. The cast iron has some small knocks. Please see pictures for condition details. The windows are an unusual find with a wonderful period look and they would make a real feature in a home.
