A very handsome, original 1930's, tambour fronted office cabinet. The cabinet is made of oak and beech, with a nice colour and has a fantastic vintage appearance. The cabinet has a tambour front, with a key which is unusual for such cabinets as they are often lost. Once the tambour is lowered several storage sections are revealed, including vertical sliding dividers to hold paperwork, a shallow drawer with brass handle and shallow drawers with beech pull sections. One drawer has lovely handmade detailing with a section for a prism and wood notches to hold the scissors in place, both still present. The drawer also has a transparent perforation gauge in vintage packaging. The tambour is in very good condition and is fully functional although please note, once opened using the key, the tambour drops quickly. The tambour will need to be opened slowly using a hand to steady it to ensure it does not drop and throw the mechanism. The cabinet is in very good condition, which is a rare find, with some small signs of age as expected. One of the sides has a small surface split. The top has some staining. The top shallow drawer has had some repairs and a brass handle added. There are some small knocks and scuffs to the oak. Please see pictures for condition details. The cabinet is a real feature item for a home office or business, with a very stylish vintage look and the addition of a key also makes it a very functional piece.
