A very pretty reclaimed iron fire screen, ideal for an open fire. The fire screen is of a nice size and we believe it to be a French reproduction of antique designs, made approximately 30 years ago. The fire screen has a very ornate design with intricate scrolling and a flower pattern in the centre circle. The back of the fire screen has a fine mesh. The iron has been left in its natural state with attractive colouration, patina and surface rust. Purchaser could polish the iron to give a shinier finish or it could be blacked with fire paint if a black finish is desired. The fire screen is in good condition with some small signs of use, as expected of reclaimed items. There is some surface rust and tarnish and there are some small splashes of residue paint. The iron has some small knocks. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire screen is a beautiful and decorative item that would be a very nice addition to a hearth.
