M1672 PAIR OF VICTORIAN FRENCH BRASS WALL SCONCE CANDLE HOLDERS

A pair of reclaimed, antique, brass French decorative candle wall sconces. The sconces, likely to date to the late Victorian period, have a very pretty and ornate appearance typical of the era. Each sconce has two candle holders on curved arms. The wall fixing plates have acanthus leaf and swag designs. There are two tabs at the top for wall fixings. The brass has a nice colour with some attractive tarnish and patina but the sconces could be polished by purchaser to try to remove some of the tarnish, if desired. The candle sconces are in good antique condition with some character signs of age, as expected. The brass has some tarnish, patina and marks. The fixing nut at the back has some surface rust. There are some thin marks and lines at the back from casting. Please see pictures for condition details. The sconces are very nice decorative items and will add a pretty period look to a home.
