A decorative, original, reclaimed Edwardian cast iron fire trim dating to C.1910-20. The fire trim has a nice design with a decorative border around the fire opening. The cast iron has been blacked and polished and has a good colour and finish. The trim is designed to fit around a fireplace opening with a wood burner or fire basket. The fire trim is in good antique condition with some small signs of age and use. There are some scratches and small knocks to the iron. The inner top corners have small notches and slight damage where fixing screws may have sat. The inner edges of the feet have some roughness. The crossbar has some indentations left from casting. The back has some surface rust, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire trim is a lovely example of period design and its attractive appearance would be suited to both period and modern properties, brining character and period charm to a hearth.
