DE0961 A GOTHIC RECLAIMED ANTIQUE OAK DOOR AND PINE FRAME

SOLD

Code: DE0961

A substantial and handsome, reclaimed, oak external door and frame, likely to date to the early 20th Century. The door is very heavy and well made with a framed construction on the internal face and oak planks on the external face. The door has a Gothic appearance with arched detailing and oak cover strips. The door retains its traditional Gothic style door furniture with two hinge straps and a knocker with letter plate that make a lovely feature. The door has a lock but please note there is no key and it will need to be changed by purchaser. The front face of the door has been stripped and the back face has a varnished finish. The door is set into a pine frame with oak sill. The door is in good solid condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected of reclaimed items. The door and frame have some knocks, chips and light damage. The frame has some knocks, surface splits and areas where small amounts of wood have broken away. The back of the sill has some damage to the edge. There are some scratches, marks and the oak has some slight colour variation. There is no key for the lock and it will need changing. The door furniture has some tarnish and surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details.
