A reclaimed, vintage, cast iron fire back. The heavy fire back has an ornate appearance and the design is a very nice reproduction of period designs. The fire back depicts what appears to be Roman soldiers surrounded by leaves and flowers. The top of the fire back is nicely shaped and has a shell design. The iron has been blacked and polished and the fire back has a good finish. The fire back is in good solid condition with some small signs of age and use. There are some small knocks, chips and casting marks. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire back has an interesting and attractive design and could be used with a fire basket or for decorative purposes within a hearth.
