A large, reclaimed, traditional style cast iron fire basket. The fire basket has a simple design with a large grill made up of two removable grill plates and has a frame work with bars that run around the basket for keeping logs in place. The front has a nice twist detail to one bar. The basket has 4 legs built in to the frame. The basket could be paired with a large cast iron fire back. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a good finish. The basket is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of use and wear, as expected. The top bar at the back of the basket has bent slightly. The underside of the grill has surface rust. The basket has some small knocks and marks. Please see pictures for condition details. The basket has a nice, simple and traditional design, suited to both modern and period properties and it is of a very good size.
