A heavy, reclaimed, cast iron swans nest fire basket with Empire style fire dogs. The basket is of a nice petite size and has traditional style spikes on the front and side. The basket has a "swans nest" dip in the centre for logs. The basket is paired with very nice Empire style fire dogs with a column design and scrolled feet. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a rich colour. The basket is reclaimed and therefore has some signs of use and wear. There is some tarnish and slight surface rust, mainly to the grill.  There are some small scratches, marks and knocks to the iron. The basket has some pitting and some surface cracks. Please see pictures for condition details. The basket has a fantastic decorative look that would suit a cottage, period or modern property.
