FS0243 A RECLAIMED PAINTED OAK FIRE SURROUND

Dimensions:

A small reclaimed painted oak fire surround. The surround has a simple design with a thick decorative border strip under the mantel and mouldings around the fire opening. The oak has been painted white but there are marks, chips and knocks to the paint, especially the mantel, and purchaser will need to sand and re-paint the surround to suit. The surround is of a small size and could be used in a bedroom or smaller living room and would look nice paired with a cast iron fire insert or fire basket. The surround is reclaimed and has some signs of age and use. The mantel has a slight bow and this has left a thin gap between the mantel and the crossbar. There is some damage to the left corner of the decorative border strip. The moulding, around the fire opening, has some slight separation to the joins. Please see pictures for condition details. The surround has a design that would be suited to both period and modern homes and would finish a fireplace nicely.
