DP0440 SET OF 4 (2 PAIRS) RECLAIMED ARTS & CRAFTS CUPBOARD DOORS

SOLD

Code: DP0440

A set of four (two pairs) of reclaimed, Arts and Crafts, pine doors, suited for use as cupboard or pantry doors. When measuring the doors, per pair, the width of two doors is close to a single standard door width and therefore could also be used for an en-suite or similar. The doors, likely to date to the early 1900's, are set up as two pairs and have a planked construction with each door having a central plank that is set further in that the outer planks. The doors are well made and have a joint slip that runs through each of them. Each door has a pretty Gothic drop handle.

The doors were varnished and the back face still retains the old varnish. The front face of the doors have been lightly sanded but you may wish to give them a further sand. The doors are best left stripped, rather than painted. The doors are in solid condition with some signs of age and use, as expected of reclaimed antiques. The doors have some knocks, chips and surface splits. The pine has some splintering to the edges and the wood has a textured appearance in places. The pine has some staining, discolouration and marks. The pine has some scratches, marks and paint marks, especially to the internal face. The top and bottom of the back face of the doors have screw holes and the screws are visible. The hinges have tarnish. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors are of a nice design, ideal for a period home and are perfect for an interior project.
